Terry Dana Jachimiak II: Hello and welcome to Loremaker Chronicles, an actual play

Speaker:

podcast produced by Roll for Perception.

Speaker:

My name is Terry J.

Speaker:

Kimiak.

Speaker:

I am the co founder of Roll for Perception as well as the GM for this actual play.

Speaker:

I want to thank you for joining us.

Speaker:

This is session zero, though this session zero will only give you a bit

Speaker:

of information about our characters.

Speaker:

I'm Evelyn Jekimiak, uh, and I'm going to be your host for this

Speaker:

episode of The Dance of Dreams.

Speaker:

I'm Evelyn Jekimiak, uh, and I'm going to be your host for this episode of The

Evelyn Jachimiak:

Dance

Evelyn Jachimiak:

I am part of Roll 4 Perception.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

I have been for a while since I helped found it.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

Um, and then, uh, I've been playing TTRPGs since I was 18.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

So for about 20 years, so not straight.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

Um, and, um, I'm not really anywhere on social media or anything, but

Evelyn Jachimiak:

you can find me in our discord.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

I hang out in there a lot and, um, I actually host, uh, a, uh,

Evelyn Jachimiak:

session of Pathfinder, uh, to you once a week, which is awesome.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

Um, so yeah.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

So if you want to like chat with me, our discord is the best place to find me.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

So my character is Helena Erickson.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

Uh, she is a writer specifically of ghost stories in this context, but

Evelyn Jachimiak:

writer is her occupation in Urizen.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

Um, She is a young woman whose frame is willowy yet resilient like a reed

Evelyn Jachimiak:

bent but unbroken by spectral winds.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

Her complexion is fair and dark circles rim her deep set eyes due to countless

Evelyn Jachimiak:

sleepless nights spent scribbling by candlelight or peering into shadows,

Evelyn Jachimiak:

though her stormy gray eyes convey a spark of liveliness that seems

Evelyn Jachimiak:

in stark contradiction, uh, to me.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

that the dark circles might suggest, and often her gaze drifts off in

Evelyn Jachimiak:

distant directions as if she's focusing on something unseen.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

She wears her chestnut hair, prematurely streaked with silver, piled untidily atop

Evelyn Jachimiak:

her head in a loose chignon, um, wisp's escape to frame her sharp cheekbones.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

A scattering of various writing implements seem to hold the loose updo

Evelyn Jachimiak:

in place and ensure the author always has her implements easily at hand.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

Her slender fingers are perpetually stained with ink and graphite, and small

Evelyn Jachimiak:

scars across her palms hint at some past trauma that has left its mark.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

Her garments show a great deal of wear, with the lace decorating

Evelyn Jachimiak:

her wrists and collar beginning to separate from the blouse, and the

Evelyn Jachimiak:

skirts faded and moth eaten, the leather of her heeled boots beginning

Evelyn Jachimiak:

to crack with age and constant use.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

A delicate cameo brooch at her throat depicts a weeping willow.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

Upon her hip, her worn leather belt secures an old ragged doll

Evelyn Jachimiak:

that always accompanies her wherever her travels may take her.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

Her writing desk within the society castle is often scattered with occult

Evelyn Jachimiak:

tomes, various curious artifacts she has collected from past excursions,

Evelyn Jachimiak:

and manuscript pages that are filled with her meticulous and precise

Evelyn Jachimiak:

handwriting detailing her various spectral encounters and supernatural

Evelyn Jachimiak:

occurrences that she compiles in preparation for for the society as

Evelyn Jachimiak:

well as for the contents of her next volume of ghost stories for publication.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

Um, as a girl, Helena's mother was driven mad by an unknown basin, which

Evelyn Jachimiak:

led the woman to smother all of her children in their beds as they slept,

Evelyn Jachimiak:

though Helena fortunately survived the incident and her mother was removed from

Evelyn Jachimiak:

the home and committed to an asylum.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

Leaving Helena alone in the world with the only remnant of her

Evelyn Jachimiak:

childhood being her doll, Greta.

Evelyn Jachimiak:

Her motivation now is to find the basin that drove her mother to madness

Evelyn Jachimiak:

so that she might have some closure.

Robert:

Hi, so my name is Rob, otherwise known as PhantomNJ.

Robert:

Uh, cybersecurity, uh, Analyst by day, a TTRPG person at nights and on the

Robert:

weekends and whenever else I get a chance.

Robert:

Uh, I've been playing TTRPGs for, oh God, at the risk of aging myself some 40 years.

Robert:

Um, we, we, we're not going to talk about that.

Robert:

Uh, where you can find me online.

Robert:

Well, you can find me in pretty much every, every discord apparently

Robert:

known to men dealing with TTRPGs.

Robert:

I feel like I'm in all of them.

Robert:

That's not quite true, but I'm getting there.

Robert:

Uh, at least for, for the smaller communities.

Robert:

And I am also found on Twitch, um, at my channel, which is also phantom NJ.

Robert:

Uh, I do have a YouTube channel where I store my videos.

Robert:

Um, however, I'd be lying if I could remind, remember what the URL is off hand.

Robert:

You can find those though, via my discord or via my, uh, Twitch channel.

Robert:

Um, so let's see, uh, I am playing for the purposes of this vase and game.

Robert:

And I love it so much.

Robert:

Uh, I am playing a doctor, Dr.

Robert:

Tomas Nystrom, uh, Dr.

Robert:

Nystrom is, I'm not going to call him a good doctor.

Robert:

He may be a good doctor.

Robert:

He's not the good doctor.

Robert:

Uh, he is a tall man.

Robert:

Uh, his skin is best described as pasty.

Robert:

Uh, pale in the best of times pasty most of the time, uh, for

Robert:

various reasons, which probably quickly become apparent in game.

Robert:

And, uh, he's, he does have a mustache.

Robert:

Uh, he's in his early forties and his hair may have begun receding a bit.

Robert:

It's, it's not the most, uh, kept thing in the world.

Robert:

Uh, he, you know, he, he might have a loose association with a brush

Robert:

or a comb, but that's about it.

Robert:

Um, and he is, he is reasonably well off.

Robert:

So he does tend to be pretty well dressed, uh, you know, overcoats, suits

Robert:

and, and the like, uh, he does have a walking stick, you know, a crafted

Robert:

walking stick, though he doesn't really need it is just a matter of,

Robert:

uh, making sure that he looks like a, the aristocrat that he wants to be.

Robert:

And, um, as far as his traumas and motivations, well, his motivations

Robert:

are motivation is pretty easy.

Robert:

He, he wants to lead the society at some point.

Robert:

He, he sees himself as a man of science, a, a man of logic, um, someone who

Robert:

Is well suited to leading this, uh, this agency, uh, as far as his trauma,

Robert:

um, I'm going to let that play out because it's not as much fun if you

Robert:

know what's happening to him at a time.

Robert:

One of part of his part of his trauma might come out really, really

Robert:

soon or come out really early.

Robert:

Some of it is going to be a little bit of a longer burn.

Robert:

And, uh, he does, he doesn't have Any immediate family, he does have his

Robert:

servant, Tova, uh, who is another player in the game, and I will leave that, uh,

Robert:

I'll leave Tova's story to the player, uh, but, uh, he, he does have a close

Robert:

relationship to his servant, which, uh, will become really apparent really quick,

Robert:

um, uh, And yeah, he's a, he, he, he's going to be a really, I'm looking forward.

Robert:

He's a really interesting character to play for sure.

Robert:

Uh, I'm hoping we can get into the real depth site, uh, of, you know, what makes

Robert:

him ticker, what has happened to him and why he is partially the way he is

Robert:

or why he's here in the first place.

Robert:

Uh, but yeah, it's going to be a lot of fun.

Erik:

Hey guys.

Erik:

Uh, my name is Eric Andrews and I have been playing tabletop role playing

Erik:

games for a little under eight years.

Erik:

And now I've been playing with Terry for a little over a year now, and it

Erik:

has been fun every step of the way for every character that he's killed.

Erik:

And there have been quite a few.

Erik:

Uh, I run a little game store in Coleman, Alabama, though.

Erik:

We have three in the state now, which is pretty cool.

Erik:

Uh, and you can find me online at one gamer geeks, Coleman.

Erik:

Which is where my store is in case you were wondering, uh, you can also find

Erik:

me online at Barty hard and basically anywhere role for perception is now.

Erik:

Cause this is like my eighth project with them.

Erik:

So, during this game, I'm gonna be playing Klaustromain.

Erik:

I'm a, I'm a priest from the states.

Erik:

Uh, I'm a, I'm a younger gentleman at, uh, about 26 years old, though

Erik:

you wouldn't be able to tell it from his, his, his swagger and attitude.

Erik:

Uh, he wears, uh, the priestly adornments that one might expect.

Erik:

The, the frock, the, the white collar, uh, uh, the, the leather boots.

Erik:

Uh, all.

Erik:

What makes him stand out just a little bit more is he's got a Bible strap to

Erik:

his chest, uh, with a leather strap.

Erik:

So it's always on hand whenever the monsters come to get them.

Erik:

Uh.

Erik:

I have, uh, of course been afflicted by a few things in my life that put

Erik:

me down the path of a Thursday's children, child, close enough.

Erik:

Uh, my whole goal in this is to find information on these evils

Erik:

of the devil, which I believe most of a son to be, although I'm

Erik:

not quite so gung ho as maybe.

Erik:

Other factions in this world might be, uh, and my vote of my motivation

Erik:

rather is I often suffer from nightly terrors caused by a bench full of mare,

Erik:

which keeps me on edge constantly.

Erik:

Uh, additionally, I find myself at odds with the other, uh, logical characters

Erik:

of the party as Klaus is not logical.

Erik:

He is driven purely by his feeling and this empathy towards people,

Erik:

which often comes out as him being rather fiery, to say the least.

TeaCat:

Hey, I'm TKat.

TeaCat:

I, uh, I paint miniatures and play TTRPGs as well as D& D.

TeaCat:

I've been playing TTRPGs for about six years now, and you can find

TeaCat:

me on Instagram and Twitch at

TeaCat:

LLTCatLL.

TeaCat:

Hey guys, it's TCat again.

TeaCat:

Today I'm playing Tova Beck in this TTRPG, who is a 60 year old maid,

TeaCat:

elderly, gray, salt and pepper hair.

TeaCat:

Who's a maid to the Dr.

TeaCat:

Thomas.

TeaCat:

My trauma is I have been bitten by a brook horse and my motivation

TeaCat:

is to protect my master.

TeaCat:

So we'll see what comes up.

TeaCat:

Terry Dana Jachimiak II: And that is our party for our first

TeaCat:

actual play using the system.

TeaCat:
