This is Episode 6 of The Dance of Dreams.

Speaker:

Prepare yourself for the fear that will flow into your soul.

Speaker:

I will be honest, it is surprising that this group is still alive after everything

Speaker:

they've seen at the Witch Cat Inn.

Speaker:

And it seems they've finally confronted Oscar Yort, the man

Speaker:

who has been creating such havoc.

Speaker:

Well, they're in the Root Cellar, a place of magic, and they're dealing

Speaker:

with Oscar's puppets as best they can.

Speaker:

But will they be able to pacify Oscar himself or will our society

Speaker:

members finally find an end?

Speaker:

Tune in and find out.

Speaker:

The fight is ongoing between our society members and four puppets now, I believe,

Speaker:

uh, with Oscar watching on and we're back to the top of our initiative order.

Speaker:

We begin with Helena.

Evelyn:

All right.

Evelyn:

So, um, Amongst my equipment, I actually have a camera.

Evelyn:

So I'm going to pull my camera.

Evelyn:

Um, it's one of the writer's items.

Evelyn:

Uh, I'm going to pull it out and I'm actually going to hold it up

Evelyn:

and sort of say out loud to Oscar.

Evelyn:

Okay.

Evelyn:

Oscar, help me find your body.

Evelyn:

And she's going to, or I'm going to like kind of try to utilize the, the

Evelyn:

The camera to help me focus and scan the area more directly rather than trying to

Evelyn:

use my eyes because then I'm focusing on smaller sections as I'm scanning through

Evelyn:

to see if I can see, um, maybe his bones protruding through the earth somewhere

Evelyn:

or, you know, something that gives me a sense that it helps me sort of focus

Evelyn:

better on, on what I'm looking for.

Evelyn:

Oscar, come on, you've got to be here somewhere and I'll, I'll get you.

Evelyn:

Kind of pan the camera across solely as I, as I look.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: So a couple of things, uh, one, when you say, Oscar, you've

Evelyn:

got to be here somewhere, uh, the, the ghost, the creature turns to you and

Evelyn:

focuses directly on what you're doing.

Evelyn:

And you hear, as he says, And then you'll hear him as he finishes it.

Evelyn:

By saying, Helma.

Evelyn:

And, does the camera give you any bonuses?

Evelyn:

Uh, so, my camera provides me a plus two, uh, let me, uh,

Evelyn:

can't remember exactly to what.

Evelyn:

Let me pull that page up real quick.

Evelyn:

Camera.

Evelyn:

Uh, plus two, it's used to gain knowledge about a place with learning

Evelyn:

or investigation, is the effect of it.

Evelyn:

But yeah, the bonus is a plus two.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: All right.

Evelyn:

All right.

Evelyn:

Um, let's go with investigation on that then.

Evelyn:

All right.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: Cause that is what you're doing.

Evelyn:

You're investigating, trying to find, uh, what is obscured as it says

Evelyn:

directly in the investigation notes.

Evelyn:

Okay, so it's logic plus my investigation plus two.

Evelyn:

Is that how that works?

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: Correct.

Evelyn:

Minus two or minus whatever mental you have.

Evelyn:

That

Evelyn:

just puts me at seven because it would be nine with

Evelyn:

my plus two from the camera.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: That's exactly it.

Evelyn:

All

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: right.

Evelyn:

Okay.

Evelyn:

That is two sixes out of the seven.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: All right.

Evelyn:

Yeah.

Evelyn:

So by, um, searching with the camera, uh, you are able to find that

Evelyn:

Oscar's remains are buried in the direct center of the root cellar.

Evelyn:

Uh, the, um, the remains are not very deep, but they are, they are buried.

Evelyn:

All right.

Evelyn:

So then for my fast action, I'm just going to kind of quickly point and, uh, call

Evelyn:

out, he's there, everyone, he's there.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: Very good.

Evelyn:

I like that.

Evelyn:

All right.

Evelyn:

We go to the creatures.

Evelyn:

Uh, the first one is going to, this is the one next to Tova is

Evelyn:

going to attempt to fight you.

Evelyn:

Tova, uh, will you be, yes.

Evelyn:

Okay.

Evelyn:

So you roll your dodge, uh, and I roll my,

TeaCat:

which is hold on two seconds.

TeaCat:

You're

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: good.

TeaCat:

I've already done my role.

TeaCat:

I know what you have to.

TeaCat:

I have to match, oh, no.

TeaCat:

To knock that doesn't, or

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: to move outta the way of another one.

TeaCat:

That

TeaCat:

sounds ominous.

TeaCat:

Okay.

TeaCat:

Dodges agility.

TeaCat:

Okay.

TeaCat:

Which I'm so great at.

TeaCat:

Yeah.

TeaCat:

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

TeaCat:

Yep.

TeaCat:

So five plus one, but minus two.

TeaCat:

So four for me.

TeaCat:

Two successes out of four.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: So as the sleepwalker attempts to swing at you,

TeaCat:

you very quickly move out of his way.

TeaCat:

Uh, I only had one six, so you were able to very easily dodge.

TeaCat:

Now let me double check to make sure there are no bonus, uh, with additional,

TeaCat:

each success deducts, the attack misses.

TeaCat:

Then required, you may choose to swap initiative to, would you like to

TeaCat:

swap initiative cards with the enemy?

TeaCat:

This would move you up to second in the initiative order.

TeaCat:

I would.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: And that moves the enemies all the way to the end.

TeaCat:

And so what, what I'm going to do here then, is we move immediately to your turn.

TeaCat:

When it gets to the enemies at the end, one of them will have already gone,

TeaCat:

so only three more will be able to go.

TeaCat:

And so Tova, you're up.

TeaCat:

Oh, so it's standing right there in front of me,

TeaCat:

trying to get the best of me.

TeaCat:

Well, I am going to crack my knuckles, lean as far back as I

TeaCat:

can, and return a blow if I can.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: Yeah, that's totally acceptable.

TeaCat:

Um, it will attempt to dodge, because it has that ability.

TeaCat:

Let me look.

TeaCat:

So subtract

TeaCat:

two.

TeaCat:

Oh, I don't think it will stand a chance, but it could.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: It has no successes.

TeaCat:

I have three successes out of six.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: Three successes on a, um, wow.

TeaCat:

On a close combat, right?

TeaCat:

Okay.

TeaCat:

Uh, or no, uh,

TeaCat:

unarmed attack,

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: unarmed attack.

TeaCat:

Where is that?

TeaCat:

Unarmed attack, uh, is just force, right?

Evelyn:

All

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: right.

Evelyn:

Um, so yeah, that's going to connect as you take your swing.

Evelyn:

Uh, the creatures unable to dodge out of the way you connect with its midsection.

Evelyn:

You see it keels in half and falls to the ground.

Evelyn:

Another one littering the floor of the root cellar.

Evelyn:

Tova, with that, uh, did you say you're going to save your fast action?

Evelyn:

Yes, I'm

TeaCat:

going to square back up and prepare to

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: dodge.

TeaCat:

So we go to Robert, or better put, the good doctor.

Robert:

So, at this point, Um, Helena has said, he's here, the

Robert:

body's here, pointed to the center.

Robert:

Uh, have I noticed any implements, like a shovel sitting somewhere or anything?

Robert:

You have not.

Robert:

Uh, what, how, where is she's pointing?

Robert:

Is the ground solid?

Robert:

Is it soft dirt?

Robert:

Um, it is,

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: um, as you look at it, it's hard to tell.

Robert:

Uh, it does look like it's, like, people have walked in

Robert:

this root cellar for 50 years.

Robert:

Well, you

Robert:

know, it's a really, really good thing that I

Robert:

grabbed that piece of the door.

Robert:

Uh, I am going to reach into, I am going to reach into, uh, my pocket, pull out

Robert:

my, uh, snuff box, give myself a good hit because, you know, I'm going to

Robert:

need the extra energy and like throw myself to the center of the floor.

Robert:

And using that sharp piece of, uh, the door frame or whatever

Robert:

it is that it broke off.

Robert:

Dig like crazy.

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: So, uh, you're going to need to give

Robert:

me, well, that's pretty easy.

Robert:

You're going to give me a, um, I say that's easy.

Robert:

And then I forget.

Robert:

Can you remember who the doctor is?

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: Yeah, it's, it's gotta be physique.

Robert:

I mean, You're, you're, you're digging, but

Erik:

we have cocaine.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: Yeah.

Erik:

You know, um, I'll let you actually, well, force doesn't help

Erik:

you cause you don't have force.

Erik:

All right.

Erik:

Yep.

Erik:

That's physique role.

Robert:

Alright, with an extra die for the cook?

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: No, because for you it's just normal.

Robert:

Oh no, I gave myself a, a larger dose.

Robert:

I, I, I know myself well enough to know that I'm going to need

Robert:

a little bit more than standard.

Robert:

This isn't, this isn't me maintaining, this is, I need a boost!

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: Alright, give me a, um, give me a D6 roll.

Robert:

Uh, that's a 5.

Robert:

All right.

Robert:

All right.

Robert:

Yeah.

Robert:

Uh, you'll get a plus one then.

Robert:

All right.

Erik:

I love the vase and cocaine dice.

Robert:

One out of three.

Robert:

When I say one, one six out of three.

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: One six.

Robert:

Okay.

Robert:

You've, you've started digging into the ground and you're,

Robert:

you're starting to pull dirt up.

Robert:

So that is, that is working.

Robert:

And I'm, I'm shouting at the top of, Klaus, Klaus, get it together.

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: We're going to need you.

Robert:

Okay.

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: And speaking of Klaus, Klaus, you're up.

Erik:

Get off me, devil, diva, devil, demon.

Erik:

And I'm going to, uh, I'm not even going to try and break free.

Erik:

I'll grab him by the wrist, kind of grab him by the, uh, the cow, uh,

Erik:

the coat and his head, but, uh, the, the one grabbing me right in the

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: nose.

Erik:

Oh, I like it.

Erik:

All right.

Erik:

So that is an unarmed combat.

Erik:

Yeah.

Erik:

For cocaine.

Erik:

That's still not a success!

Erik:

I've rolled a three and a four.

Evelyn:

Do you have any other dice?

Erik:

I've been rolling everything in the case.

Erik:

Uh, you know what, Terry?

Erik:

I feel I'm gonna push it.

Erik:

I wanna I want it to work.

Erik:

I'm gonna I'm gonna die anyways down here, Tova's gonna kill

Erik:

me so I may as well do it.

Erik:

That's a success!

Erik:

That's fair!

Erik:

Yes!

Erik:

I succeeded once!

Erik:

A singular time!

TeaCat:

The power of Tova compels you!

TeaCat:

This is great!

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: This is very much unlike your internet.

TeaCat:

Um, you are able, you are able,

TeaCat:

you are able to knock that one out.

TeaCat:

Uh, that head, but, um, uh, yeah, you just, Boom.

TeaCat:

And he is, he falls to the ground leaving, uh, leaving two.

TeaCat:

Yeah, Tova's taken care of two already, right?

Erik:

And I just, I just want to double check real fast because I pushed it.

Erik:

I take a condition that is correct.

Erik:

You do

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: indeed.

Erik:

How many, uh,

Erik:

I am now maxed out.

Erik:

I'm exhausted, battered, wounded, angry, frightened, helpless, and broken,

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: but you're not broken on the physical side.

Erik:

I have not

Erik:

broken physically yet.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: All right.

Erik:

Uh, did you want to use a fast action?

Erik:

Uh, I shall hold for the moment.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: Alright.

Erik:

Um, that brings us to the enemies.

Evelyn:

Mm hmm.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: And the one that's, the other one that's next to you,

Evelyn:

Klaus, is going to take a swing at you.

Evelyn:

I wanna dodge!

Evelyn:

Of course you are.

Evelyn:

I have no issues with that.

Evelyn:

All right.

Evelyn:

What do you get?

Erik:

All right.

Erik:

Uh, dodging was, uh, uh, agility.

Erik:

That's right.

Erik:

It is.

Erik:

Uh, no successes.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: Well, uh, it swings at you, but good news.

Erik:

It was a little off kilter, uh, as, uh, You head butted

Erik:

the other one and it misses.

Erik:

Yeah.

Erik:

But the other one, sensing a sign of weakness, will attempt as well.

Erik:

Shit.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: That is one success.

Erik:

I have no more reactions.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: I know you don't.

Erik:

I need you to roll 2d6 of different colors.

Erik:

I shall.

Erik:

One moment.

Erik:

Let me grab the fancy colored one.

Erik:

Come on.

Erik:

That is gonna be a 66.

Erik:

I've rolled good for the first time.

Erik:

And it's a crushed chest.

Erik:

Uh.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: You feel as this creature uses all of its might

Erik:

and rams its fist into your chest.

Erik:

You immediately feel your ribs collapse.

Erik:

I need you to roll a 1d6.

Erik:

Uh, good news.

Erik:

That's a one.

Erik:

I'm rolling all the way across the chart tonight.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: Your su you.

Erik:

Um, we'll get, we'll get to your effects when we come around to your turn.

Erik:

Oh, no, I just, no.

Erik:

Hey, wait, Terry.

Erik:

Okay, that's fine.

Erik:

Oh, no.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: Yeah, you just looked, didn't you?

Erik:

I looked at it, yes, sure did.

Erik:

Yep.

Erik:

All

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: right.

Erik:

We go back to the top, Helena?

Erik:

Uh, yes.

Erik:

Um, just a note.

Erik:

Um.

Erik:

Everybody sees this, and everybody hears the sickening

Erik:

crack of the creature's chest.

Evelyn:

Doctor, I think we might need your help.

Evelyn:

Um, and, um, she's going to look toward the creature that's attacking Klaus, and

Evelyn:

she's going to, or, I'm going to, um, you.

Evelyn:

He is, he is an easy target.

Evelyn:

You come and get me.

Evelyn:

I am harder to get.

Evelyn:

You, you, you, you should not mess with such easy things to hit.

Evelyn:

Come and get me.

Evelyn:

And she's going to, I'm going to try to persuade them to come towards me.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: All right, all right, uh, so that's

Evelyn:

going to be a persuasion roll.

Evelyn:

All right.

Evelyn:

Which is, which is manipulation, I believe.

Evelyn:

Persuade.

Evelyn:

Okay.

Evelyn:

Yep.

Evelyn:

All right,

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: so go ahead and give me a roll.

Evelyn:

All right.

Evelyn:

Um, okay.

Evelyn:

So let me pull up my sheet.

Evelyn:

So it's empathy, which I have five.

Evelyn:

Manipulation, I have zero, so that's three.

Evelyn:

That is no sixes on three dice.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: All right.

Evelyn:

I

Evelyn:

rolled three threes.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: You see, as, uh, it looks at you again with no emotion

Evelyn:

in the eyes, glazed over, eyes wide, no blinking, but you do hear, as

Evelyn:

you say that, 26, You here as Oscar.

Evelyn:

Don't worry.

Evelyn:

Don't worry, Ilma.

Evelyn:

You are next.

Evelyn:

Alright, we go to Tova.

Evelyn:

Um.

Evelyn:

Oh

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: yeah.

Evelyn:

That would have been my slow, like, slow action, right?

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: Yeah.

Evelyn:

Do I get a You can,

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: or do you want to save it for a dot?

Evelyn:

And just understand that if you use your fast now, you don't have a dodge.

Evelyn:

Oh,

Evelyn:

I, I, I don't know how the, sorry.

Evelyn:

I didn't know how the

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: reactions

Evelyn:

were.

Evelyn:

So

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: I

Evelyn:

guess I will save

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: it then.

Evelyn:

Okay.

Evelyn:

Yeah.

Evelyn:

I mean, it's not

Evelyn:

going to do anything cause I don't have anything for agility.

Evelyn:

So you'll be

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: surprised so far it's 50, 50.

Evelyn:

So, so we go to Tova.

TeaCat:

Uh, so I would have to, uh, Sorry, move within the zone to get over to our

TeaCat:

good preacher who's flat on his ass.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: Yeah, yeah.

TeaCat:

Yes, so I'm going to look over my shoulder and see that he's gone

TeaCat:

down and knowing the doctor's probably going to help administer something

TeaCat:

to him, start making my way there because he's going to need some backup.

TeaCat:

And rear back my little bony fist and aim for square in the

TeaCat:

nose of the closest one then.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: I love it.

TeaCat:

And it's going to, it's going to attempt to dodge.

TeaCat:

That's okay because I have totally biffed it for once.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: You biffed it?

TeaCat:

I biffed.

TeaCat:

I have.

TeaCat:

I happen, there is no six S's.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: Well, this is, gets interestinger and interestinger

TeaCat:

because I rolled a single six, which means that with a dodge, it can.

TeaCat:

No, it's not going to switch initiative.

TeaCat:

They wouldn't do that.

TeaCat:

So, so, okay.

TeaCat:

So you just miss.

TeaCat:

Okay.

TeaCat:

Um, so we go to, whoo, we go to the, I will definitely hold

TeaCat:

my dog Jackson.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: Yeah.

TeaCat:

And Eric, just a note.

TeaCat:

I need you just to make sure you real look real quick over page,

TeaCat:

uh, 67 on the insight stuff.

TeaCat:

Um, shouldn't take you but a moment to just really peruse it.

TeaCat:

So we go to the good doctor.

Robert:

Yeah.

Robert:

Hearing this sickening crack.

Robert:

Um, and having a good, pretty good idea of where it came from, because the things

Robert:

that have befallen this poor man, however much you may tease him, Uh, he looks

Robert:

over to see Klaus, or I look over to see Klaus fall, crumple to the ground.

Robert:

I stop digging immediately, and basically pretty much throw myself at

Robert:

his body, grabbing my bag, and look to treat his injuries as best as I can.

Robert:

Um, it, it should be a medicine check for pre critical.

Robert:

It is correct.

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: Medicine or inspiration.

Robert:

Um, any additional successes will treat further conditions along that line.

Robert:

Um, but, but yeah, what you're trying to do is get rid of

Robert:

that.

Robert:

And precision is four, so seven die.

Robert:

Dammit Klaus, we're not done with you yet tonight.

Robert:

We need you man.

Robert:

Stay with me.

Robert:

I have not given you permission to die

Erik:

I think those things like this is outside your hands, doctor.

Erik:

Ha ha ha, fuck.

Robert:

Your god may have abandoned you, I have not.

Robert:

Two sixes, out of seven.

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: Alright, so Klaus, The doctor comes over immediately

Robert:

attempting to treat the shattered sternum.

Robert:

On your body, he's able to get you wrapped up and secure it in such a way that it

Robert:

doesn't feel as if it will be fatal.

Robert:

Um, you're able to clear your broken and one other condition.

Robert:

It does not change the fact that you do have that, uh, Insight.

Robert:

And so go ahead.

Robert:

Can I like gently as much as possible and hopefully with him, uh,

Robert:

with, uh, Klaus assisting by use of his feet, like try to drag him over

Robert:

towards where the, the body is already,

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: you already moved towards him.

Robert:

Okay.

Robert:

All right.

Robert:

Figured I'd check.

Robert:

Yeah.

Robert:

All right.

Robert:

Can, can, can you.

Robert:

Can you find it within you to consecrate that ground from here?

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: Oh, consecrate.

Robert:

So we

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: go to Eric, to Klaus.

Erik:

The whole area.

Erik:

I don't know, but, uh.

Erik:

Ah, fuck.

Erik:

My flesh and my I don't care

Robert:

about the whole area.

Robert:

There,

Erik:

man.

Erik:

There.

Erik:

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion.

Erik:

Forever.

Erik:

So yeah, get me over there.

Erik:

Uh, and I want to spend my, uh, fast action to get Get to it.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: All right.

Erik:

All right.

Erik:

Now, uh, I would, we know where it is.

Erik:

I want to use this insight.

Erik:

This, now I believe it just grants me supernatural strength.

Erik:

No,

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: no.

Erik:

So, so

Erik:

I could be vision, open their eyes or control my own destiny.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: Yes.

Erik:

There are four things you can choose from.

Erik:

Uh, increased skill, which is on the list, which is a plus four to force,

Erik:

I think, for what happened to you.

Erik:

Uh, a vision.

Erik:

Open your, oh, go ahead.

Erik:

I will demand a vision.

Erik:

What do I have to say?

Erik:

What do I have to do to get this thing done?

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: So as the good doctor heals you up and you feel the life force

Erik:

within you at being ever so slowly out, you close your eyes for an instance.

Erik:

As they're closed, warm.

Erik:

Light shines.

Erik:

It's as if you're standing on the edge of a plateau, looking out over the open

Erik:

plains of an area you've never been to.

Erik:

You see the sun low in the sky, shining directly at you.

Erik:

As you're doing this, as you're seeing this, everything around

Erik:

you in the root cellar disappears.

Erik:

It's peaceful and silence,

Erik:

and you begin to understand things.

Erik:

It's as if ideas slowly make their way into your head.

Erik:

You realize that Oscar has mistaken you all for those that killed him.

Erik:

He believes you all are Albert, Katja, Hilma, and Empyree, he knows and feels

Erik:

within himself a need to make all of you suffer before your ultimate demise.

Erik:

You, Preacher, also hear and begin to understand that Oscar

Erik:

can be put to rest, but he must be buried in consecrated ground.

Erik:

You know that you, as a priest, have that ability to consecrate the ground,

Erik:

but that the remains must be dug up first so that the ground can be

Erik:

consecrated before the remains are buried.

Erik:

As you begin to realize this, the sun starts to go dark, and in the

Erik:

next instant you're looking up at the doctor telling you to go and

Erik:

work on digging up the remains.

Erik:

I grab the doctor's, uh, coat.

Erik:

Dig him up first.

Erik:

We got to get him up.

Erik:

Then I can consecrate it.

Erik:

Oh dear lord, someone has destroyed this sanctuary, but I will make it better.

Erik:

For the

Robert:

first time since knowing him, the doctor does not think to even Disagree,

Robert:

ingest and gets back to work digging.

Erik:

Uh, if, uh, I have not yet, uh, used my action 'cause I don't know if

Erik:

using an inside dust, so I will also attempt to dig with my bare hands.

Erik:

Blood still dripping out of the wounds fresh on my body.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: All right.

Erik:

Yeah, you can prepare to do that.

Erik:

You won't be able to do it, uh, this round, but you are very

Erik:

easily able to do just that.

Erik:

We moved to the two, I believe there's two creatures remaining.

Erik:

No, Tova took one out, right?

Erik:

No, Tova

TeaCat:

missed.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: That's right.

TeaCat:

So there are two.

TeaCat:

The one is going to take a swing right back at you, Tova.

TeaCat:

Okay.

TeaCat:

I'm a dodging.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: Yep.

TeaCat:

I figured you would.

TeaCat:

And so go ahead.

TeaCat:

Give me your role.

TeaCat:

Okay.

TeaCat:

Two successes out of four.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: It has no successes, so you easily dodge it.

TeaCat:

I'm assuming you don't want to switch initiative though because you're

TeaCat:

in a good spot with initiative.

TeaCat:

I'm a

TeaCat:

very good spot.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: Uh, the other one seeing the doctor assist with, uh, Klaus

TeaCat:

will try to swing at the good doctor.

TeaCat:

Uh, do you want to dodge?

TeaCat:

No, you used your fast action.

TeaCat:

Well, I've got good news as he misses you as well.

TeaCat:

So you are safe.

TeaCat:

We go back to the top of the order, Helena.

Evelyn:

Uh, Helena, uh, uh, I am going to just sort of stop my foot.

Evelyn:

No!

Evelyn:

You do not get to ignore me!

Evelyn:

Come get me!

Evelyn:

Leave them alone!

Evelyn:

And I will try to persuade again, to try to get the thing that's attacking

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: Alright, give, give me, give me a roll.

Evelyn:

Okay, let's see.

Evelyn:

Persuasion is manipulate, uh, yeah, manipulation, yeah?

Evelyn:

Yes.

Evelyn:

That was just five, because I had a minus two.

Evelyn:

Oh wait, no, that'd be three.

Evelyn:

Minus two, plus one, minus one, manipulation, that's right.

Evelyn:

All right.

Evelyn:

One success out of three that time.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: All right.

Evelyn:

They do, they immediately turn to you.

Evelyn:

All right.

Evelyn:

And they look at you.

Evelyn:

All right.

Evelyn:

And give me a perception roll, not perception.

Evelyn:

It's called I can't

Evelyn:

roll for perception.

Evelyn:

I don't know what that is.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: I know, give me an observation roll.

Evelyn:

Oh, okay.

Evelyn:

So then that would be a straight five because I have plus two for observation.

Evelyn:

Okay.

Evelyn:

Um,

Evelyn:

Ooh, that's good.

Evelyn:

I got four sixes out of five.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: All right.

Evelyn:

For a brief moment.

Evelyn:

Yes.

Evelyn:

In the faces of the two that have now turned to you and are moving upon you.

Evelyn:

Mm-Hmm.

Evelyn:

. Terry Jachimiak II: You see the images of your siblings?

Evelyn:

Will you be holding your fast action?

TeaCat:

Yes.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: And we go to Tova

TeaCat:

Terry, I messed that up.

TeaCat:

I believe I had used my fast action to move in to get there.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: It's fine.

TeaCat:

They failed.

TeaCat:

So,

TeaCat:

okay.

TeaCat:

. I was like, oh wait.

TeaCat:

So, I forgot to add that.

TeaCat:

But I will try to return the favor back to the one that just tried to take me out.

Evelyn:

And you know what?

TeaCat:

I'm feeling really feisty, so I'm gonna switch it up and try a My left hook.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: And see how that

TeaCat:

goes.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: It will defend, of course.

TeaCat:

Um, I have a quick Cocked one.

TeaCat:

I don't know how you, it's on its side, but it wouldn't matter

TeaCat:

anyhow, because it's not a success.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: Any successes?

TeaCat:

No.

TeaCat:

Zero out of six.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: Wow.

TeaCat:

Your, your, your roles have turned away

TeaCat:

from you.

TeaCat:

I know.

TeaCat:

The creature went down and I'm like, all shambles.

TeaCat:

Terry Jachimiak II: All right.

TeaCat:

I will hold my action.

TeaCat:

We jump over to the good doctor.

Robert:

Uh, yeah, digging.

Robert:

I am digging as though our lives depend on it because they do.

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: Yes.

Robert:

Give me your force or not force.

Robert:

Um,

Robert:

it doesn't matter.

Robert:

Oh,

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: that's right.

Robert:

I forgot.

Robert:

It's the doctor.

Robert:

It's all zero anyway.

Robert:

Uh, one six out of three.

Robert:

Terry Jachimiak II: All right.

Robert:

You put a bit more of a dent into the digging.

Robert:

Uh, you would have needed to move over back to the area, so that

Robert:

would have been your fast action, because you moved to, you moved to,

Robert:

uh, the priest to heal him, right?

Robert:

The preacher.

Robert:

Or the preacher.

Robert:

Was that last turn or the turn before?

Robert:

Yeah, that was last round.

Robert:

I guess it was last round, yeah.

Robert:

Okay, so we move to the preacher.

Erik:

So I'm gonna continue digging as well.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: Alright.

Erik:

Uh, so force, right?

Erik:

Here we go.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: Uh, no, it's just, um Physique?

Erik:

Oh no, it is force, it is force, yes.

Erik:

That is a single success.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: Alright, uh, as you hit it, you see a bag, the,

Erik:

the beginnings of a burlap sack.

Erik:

Uh, you know with just a little more digging, you're

Erik:

gonna be able to pull that up.

Erik:

Alright, I'm, will hold my fast action.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: The two enemies come to you, Helena.

Erik:

One of them swings.

Erik:

Are you dodging?

Evelyn:

No.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: It will be two successes.

Evelyn:

All right.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: So when an attack has two successes, which

Evelyn:

this is a close combat, um, you choose to deal additional damage,

Evelyn:

additional damage.

Evelyn:

So it will be.

Evelyn:

Two physical conditions.

Evelyn:

Okay.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: All right.

Evelyn:

Uh, the second one, will you be defending that one?

Evelyn:

No.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: So you all see this, two of them move to Helena.

Evelyn:

She does not defend herself.

Evelyn:

That one misses you completely.

Evelyn:

And you hear Oscar.

Evelyn:

Oh, you don't stand out of the way.

Evelyn:

Good.

Evelyn:

Feel the pains that you sent to me.

Evelyn:

He's then gonna look down at the two digging members.

Evelyn:

And what do you two think you're doing?

Evelyn:

Your death will come soon enough, Albert and Katja.

Evelyn:

Soon enough.

Evelyn:

Helena.

Evelyn:

Um, she's going to Ah.

Evelyn:

I'm going to look at Am I still seeing my siblings looking at me?

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: No, it's gone.

Evelyn:

Ugh.

Evelyn:

I don't like you messing with my head, Oscar.

Evelyn:

Nobody said that was possible.

Evelyn:

Fair play.

Evelyn:

You are a coward attacking people who has nothing to do

Evelyn:

with you and using these others.

Evelyn:

It's pathetic.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: So, uh, you said that.

Evelyn:

Um, would you want to?

Evelyn:

And you don't have to.

Evelyn:

Mm hmm.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: But you did see he kind of tilted his head to the side.

Evelyn:

Mm hmm.

Evelyn:

When you said you've got the wrong person.

Evelyn:

Mm hmm.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: Um, would you want to try?

Evelyn:

A manipulation test to help Oscar understand that he's no longer alive

Evelyn:

and that it's been way more years.

Evelyn:

Oh, absolutely.

Evelyn:

All right.

Evelyn:

All right.

Evelyn:

So then that's just going to be three dice.

Evelyn:

Okay.

Evelyn:

Okay.

Evelyn:

Let's see.

Evelyn:

Go with those three.

Evelyn:

Well, it's two, six out of three.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: Oscar looks at you.

Evelyn:

Oh, what do you mean the wrong people?

Evelyn:

I mean, it was 50 years ago when you died.

Evelyn:

I do not know who this Ilma was other than one of the people

Evelyn:

who killed you, but I am Helena.

Evelyn:

He is Klaus.

Evelyn:

She is Tova.

Evelyn:

That is Tomas.

Evelyn:

We are here to try to put you to rest properly.

Evelyn:

Let these people go.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: Fifty years.

Evelyn:

It, it can't be.

Evelyn:

It feels like, it feels like yesterday.

Evelyn:

Fif Wait, wait, you're not, you're,

Evelyn:

you're not Albert, my love, can't you hear me?

Evelyn:

You see he kind of backs away a little bit.

Evelyn:

No, fifty years, they are dead already.

Evelyn:

You see as he Takes his hand and brushes it to the side.

Evelyn:

And the two still conscious sleepwalkers crumple to the ground.

Evelyn:

And I immediately kind of kneel down to them.

Evelyn:

I don't know how to check pulses or anything, but I'm They're breathing.

Evelyn:

You can see

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: physical breathing.

Evelyn:

I, I am making sure that they seem okay

Evelyn:

for letting them go.

Evelyn:

Terry Jachimiak II: Fifty years.

Evelyn:

And at this point, you can see that, that he's starting to understand things.

Evelyn:

Um, this is a chance to continue your digs.

Evelyn:

You don't have to roll.

Evelyn:

You're not being attacked.

Evelyn:

You're not, you don't have anything on you.

Evelyn:

You're able to finish digging up and Oscar just kind of watches you, the

Evelyn:

two of you, as you do this, as you finish digging, you see, The burlap

Evelyn:

sack, all that's left in it is bones.

Evelyn:

All of the organic matter, the flesh, the skin, the blood gone.

Evelyn:

What do you do?

Robert:

I very, very gently pick up the bag, um, and move it outside

Robert:

of the dug area because Uh, did I understand correctly that all he needs

Robert:

to con he can consecrate this ground and we can put the body back correct.

Robert:

So, very gently I pick up the bag of bones and light on the side and move out of the,

Robert:

you know, move out of the burial spot.

Robert:

Klaus, it is your turn.

Erik:

Then, uh, I, I spend my slow action to perform this ritual.

Erik:

I, uh, I take, uh, the piece of wood from the doctor and I, I

Erik:

carve out, uh, of resting place.

Erik:

Not haphazardly, but one that was made for this particular soul, a task for him.

Erik:

I hold my rosary in front of me in this new consecrated space.

Erik:

And I say, our loving God, be close to those who dwell in this room.

Erik:

May its walls be a reminder of strength and the shelter

Erik:

that you offer your people.

Erik:

May they remain strong to provide sanctuary and peace to all who

Erik:

enter and to all that will remain.

Erik:

May its sturdy shelves hold provisions for a long winter and a fast summer

Erik:

and all those who would lean on them.

Erik:

May it provide its strength.

Erik:

May its door be a reminder that you stand waiting at the door to our hearts, and

Erik:

may it always remain open in hospitality to the stranger and to the outcast.

Erik:

May the fullness of peace and joy embrace all those who come here

Erik:

to wash away the decades of agony that once filled these walls.

Erik:

In this, to our Lord God, do I pray.

Erik:

And, uh, I take what little burned remains of my bible and I scatter it in the hole.

Robert:

Surprisingly, you hear, Amen, and then suddenly I'm, find

Robert:

myself looking to the left and right as if, did somebody else hear that?

Robert:

I, hmm, okay.

Erik:

I take, uh, the burlap from the doctor and I, I set it,

Erik:

uh, I, I take the remains out.

Erik:

And I set the bones in the way that they would have laid in the space, the arms,

Erik:

the shoulders, the legs, the skull.

Erik:

Facing towards our Lord God.

Erik:

And as sanctimonious a way as I can.

Erik:

Now, uh, to finish this guys, we need to, uh, each throw a pinch of dirt.

Erik:

We're the last ones to see it, so it needs to be all of us.

Evelyn:

All right.

Robert:

Where I'm kneeling down, I just grab a piece, uh, a bit of dirt

Robert:

and, uh, Toss it onto the bones.

Evelyn:

I'll move over, grab a handful of dirt,

Evelyn:

and I feel it crumble in my hand.

Evelyn:

I will tell your story, Oscar.

Evelyn:

It deserves to be told.

Evelyn:

And she'll throw the dirt into the grave.

TeaCat:

I'll walk up.

TeaCat:

After Miss Helena, and squat down to pick up some dirt.

TeaCat:

And look over at Klaus.

TeaCat:

Not bad, Preacher.

TeaCat:

Not bad.

TeaCat:

And toss it into the grave.

TeaCat:

Klaus.

TeaCat:

Here.

TeaCat:

And I reach into my pocket and pull out a little black book with

TeaCat:

a cross on it and pass it over.

TeaCat:

It'll do in a pinch.

TeaCat:

Not what you need, but just enough.

TeaCat:

And I have some pass of my, um, memento hymnal that's been

TeaCat:

passed down from my family.

Erik:

I take it.

Erik:

Sure will do in a pinch.

Erik:

Thank you, Tova.

TeaCat:

I've mocked all my favorite hymnals.

TeaCat:

Dog eared them.

TeaCat:

They're all dog eared.

TeaCat:

Ha ha

Erik:

ha!

Erik:

Um, Klaus, uh, the last to bend over, takes, uh, the softest bit of

Erik:

dirt he can find, sprinkles it over.

Erik:

Now, be at peace and let our song accompany you to heaven.

Erik:

And I will turn to page, uh, 42 and, uh, begin the song on that page.

Erik:

Terry Jachimiak II: As you begin singing, you see, you see Oscar,

Erik:

Oscar's visage, the ghost.

Erik:

starts to reform from a skeletal, ghostly, glowing, ephemeral creature to something

Erik:

that looks more like a person who lived 50 years ago, the same person that you

Erik:

saw in the vision when you entered the root cellar He looks at each of you,

Erik:

nods, and in the next instance is gone.

Erik:

As you stand there, the rest of the root cellar starts to change before your eyes

Erik:

until it looks like a normal root cellar, normal size, looks like it should be

Erik:

on the inside as it is on the outside.

Erik:

You listen and realize the rain has stopped.

Erik:

The bodies that have been knocked out, you all move back into the inn.

Erik:

The next morning, they do wake up, but they have no recollection of

Erik:

what happened the previous evening.

Erik:

Olaus Klint looks at the four of you as you recount the story to him.

Erik:

He's bewildered, curious why the four of you were kept awake and

Erik:

why he ended up falling asleep.

Erik:

Once you ensure that everybody is okay.

Erik:

You all return back to your home and make note of what it is you learned,

Erik:

what it is you saw, and what it is to be a member of the society.

Erik:

Well, you now know the story of the Witch Cat Inn and Oscar Yort.

Erik:

Erik:

What will happen to him in the future, no one knows.

Erik:

Nor the rest of our society members.
